MigracamThe American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) launched on April 17 an application called MigraCam so that immigrants do not stand by and have evidence when presenting themselves before a judge. The free smartphone app was designed to help immigrants who live in overly vigilant communities in border regions and across the United States. Its function is to notify friends and family through a live video about arrests made by authorities in raids or traffic stops. The way in which said application acts is using a list of emergency contacts established by the user. Once the application is activated, emergency contacts receive a notification via text message and email where they are given access to the live video and alerted to the location of the subject who is using the application. This tool has information related to the rights that immigrants have within the United States, with alerts and with the option of making donations to the union. The app is available in English and Spanish at no cost on Android and iOS devices. You still have questions read the full FAQ document. Source: https://www.aclutx.org/MigraCam.
